Dr. A.S. Senthilvelu is a highly experienced Chief Diabetologist and Endocrinologist with over 25 years of expertise in diabetes care, currently serving as a consultant at Maaruthi Medical Centre and Hospitals and as the founder of the Erode Diabetes Foundation. A graduate of Kilpauk Medical College (1989) with an MD from Madras Medical College (1998), he specializes in the prevention, early diagnosis, and management of diabetes and its complications, including neuropathy, nephropathy, retinopathy, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetic foot care, along with advanced treatments such as insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring systems. He is actively involved in medical education as a regional faculty for the Certificate Course in Evidence-Based Diabetes Management (PHFI), a member of leading organizations like IMA and API, and an invited speaker at national conferences. He has authored books in Tamil on diabetes and lifestyle management, contributed to clinical research studies, and regularly conducts patient education programs, health camps, and awareness initiatives to promote better diabetes care and prevention in the community.
